Quarterly GWCA Meeting – 2nd Quarter 2022

Our quarterly neighborhood meeting will take place at 7:00 PM on Thursday, June 23rd at Warner Park and Gardens.  In addition to normal business and council elections, we have a very exciting agenda that includes:

  • TreeKeepers are coming to talk about tree care and native trees.
  • Registration for the 40th Annual Garden Walk will be launched.
  • Representatives from the 47th Ward and CDOT will share a proposal for protected bike lanes from Irving Park to Montrose and will discuss other safe streets possibilities in our neighborhood.

Quarterly GWCA Meeting – 1st Quarter 2022

Join us for our first GWCA meeting for 2022.
We’ve got an exciting night planned with special guests including:
  • Lake View High School’s STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) program lead
  • Alderman Matt Martin
  • Congressman Michael Quigley’s office
In addition to regular business, we’ll also be awarding the first ever Golden Rake award for efforts during last year’s leaf cleanup and presenting scholarship funds to LVHS.  We look forward to seeing you all on Thursday, March 31st at The Piggery, 1625 W Irving Park Rd.

It has been 16 months since our last in-person GWCA meeting, so we are extremely excited for tonight’s meeting from 6:00 – 7:30 pm Warner Park.

Agenda:

  • Council Updates: Leaders, Council Election, GWCA 2021 Proposed Budget and vote
  • Committee Updates: 39th Annual Garden Walk, GWCAFest, GWCA ECO-Green Committee, Tree Canopy
  • Presentation: Provide Bird and Butterfly Habitat in practically any spot (yard, parkway, balcony, deck, patio, flat roof)
  • Panel: Judith Pollock, President, Chicago Audubon Society and Patrick Sbordone, horticulturist and butterfly habitat consultant
