19th Police District Council

October 24, 2023 @ 6:30 pm 8:30 pm

We, like you, have been deeply troubled by the recent uptick in violent robberies in our area and throughout Chicago. What resources are available to help you stay safe? That’s what we’ll cover in our next District Council meeting, this Tuesday, October 24, at 6:30pm.

We’ll review safety tips to increase your personal security. We’ll hear directly from the Chicago Office of Emergency Management and Communications (OEMC) about when and how to make an effective 911 call, and other safety resources available to you through 311. And we’ll welcome public safety staffers from aldermanic offices in our area to learn what public safety issues your alderperson can help address.

In addition, we’ll observe Domestic Violence Awareness Month by welcoming a representative from Apna Ghar, a provider for victims of domestic violence based right here in the 19th Police District. We’ll learn about the prevalence of domestic violence, Apna Ghar’s programming, and other resources for those facing domestic or gender-based violence.
We look forward to seeing you there.
