Rats are able to reproduce at three months and a pair can produce 2,000 babies in their lifespan

Rats can swim for three days and hold their breath for three minutes

Rats can relocate up to four miles

Don’t put any pet food outdoors.  Clean up all food and drink litter.  Report overfilled dumpsters.  Clean under trash cans and dumpsters regularly.

Check your street for clogged sewer grates, leaves, debris and even small amounts of standing water.  Rats thrive with any standing water.  Check your sidewalk and yard for standing water.  Remind landscapers not to put grass clippings or leaves in the street.  If they occur, please be a thoughtful neighbor and clean up leaves, grass clipping and street much for yourself and neighbors

If you’ve cleaned out sewers and have debris, please get it in a garbage can

Post rain much can create pockets of muck containing standing water.  Clean crosswalks, sidewalks, sewer grates and the parking area in front of your home, condo or apartment before and after rain.
