Constituent Services Liaison

47th Ward Public Service Office Alderman Ameya Pawar City of Chicago

Salary Range: $40-47K plus benefits

Full-time (9AM-5PM): 85% at Ward Office (4243 N Lincoln, 60618)/15% at City Hall, off-site meetings, or in the field; some weekday evenings and weekend days are requested (time can be flexed)

Duties:

Serve as an aide to Ald. Ameya Pawar. The position will focus primarily on constituent service work, but can also include other interests and draw from specialized skill sets (e.g. urban planning, community organizing, project management, GIS).

Act as a liaison between residents and city departments (Streets and San, CDOT, etc.) as well as sister agencies (CTA, CPS, etc.) to solve problems and provide quality city services. This includes responding to emails, answering phone calls, and addressing residents and businesses that visit in person.

Assist with managing public projects around the ward and coordinating various initiatives of the office.

To Qualify:

Customer service experience and an interest in transportation-related issues are desired.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with elected officials, city employees, representatives from community groups and other agencies, and the public.

Basic proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.), Adobe Reader, and Google Maps and StreetView.
