Parking available in the faculty lot via Irving Park. LVHS scholastic achievements and interior improvements are too expensive to list here. Exterior improvements include building and roof repairs, an expanded faculty parking lot with a second entrance/exit on Greenview, a new and relocated play lot, a larger playing field with artificial turf and a longer and new cushioned track. Reservoirs beneath the campus will be installed to retain stormwater and slowly release it to sewers. Stakeholders, including GWCA Leaders, attended the initial presentation on March 20th.

· Thursday, November 2nd, 7pm. GWCAFest Block Party 2017 / 2018 Meeting Join us as we brainstorm about the 2017 and upcoming 2018 GWCAFest block party. What should we keep, stop, change and/or add? If you did not attend this year what at the event would interest you enough to try it out? We will also talk about new ideas for next year’s Fest too. RSVP to Brad Pierce at bradfordpierce@gmail.com

· Saturday, November 18th, 9-11 am. 5th Annual GWCA Neighbors Street Leaf Cleanup. We’re asking all home owners, condo owners, business owners and renters to help get all street and crosswalk leaves up. About 1/3 of our leaves fall after the final city street cleaning. These leaves get slick and can cause falls. They also clog sewers and contribute to flooded intersections, crosswalks, vehicles and basements. Join GWCA Leaders and neighbors at the Greenview intersection closest to your house. LVHS students help us too. Bring rakes, gloves, and 10 leaf bags. Dust pans are good scoops to bag leaves. Leaves will be composted by the city. We’ll have extra rakes.
· Monday, December 4th, 7:15 pm. Brief GWCA Community Meeting, Council Election and Holiday Pot Luck & Mixer (Bring a dish to share & BYOB). Rizal Center, parking lot on east side of building.

Lights On, Lock Up and Look Outside!
Lights On! Is your front porch brightly lit? Do you have a few lights on timers so it looks like someone is home from all outdoor angles? Please brightly light your front porch from dusk to dawn all year and remember to change your front porch and interior timers for Standard Time. Lock Up! Do lock your residence, garage and car doors? Please also lock up and pocket your key when you’re gardening, raking leaves or shoveling. Look Outside! Walk Around! Isn’t anyone seeing anything? Allthough our crime rate is among the lowest in the city, we are experiencing some cars broken into, wheels and catalytic converters stolen, unlocked cars rifled through and a car keyless entry cloned and the car stolen. A few unlocked houses and apartments have been entered through doors or windows and burglarized. These burglars may be arriving by foot, bicycle or vehicle. If you see suspicious behavior, please call 911 immediately.
