Garage broken into 9-25 between 3 and 6 am do you have video or info?

A garage in the 4100 block of Greenview was broken into on 9-25 between 3 am and 6 am.  Because the time is so specific, we’re wondering if you have video of the north south alley east of Greenview for that time and area.  Of if you noted anything suspicious.  If so, could you please contact mary.hein@chicagopolice.org.  She is the Sgt. who heads CAPS for the 19th District

Auto security alert – key bob signal can be cloned

Auto thieves have a new gadget, a device that clones your key fob signal when you lock your car. The device can  break into and start 17 models of cars.  Thieves just need to be nearby when you lock your car with your key fob.

Tips:

  1. Lock your car manually, not with your remote
  2. Park in a well lit and more crowded area
  3. Be aware of your surroundings
  4. Banish neighborhood hiding spots with bright front porch lighting, trees trimmed
  5. Report any suspicious behavior to 911, then call your phone tree (neighbors on all four sides)
  6. Install security video cameras with good night resolution and maintain footage for 30 days
  7. Watch out for your neighbors
