Today’s the Garage Sale Day
Reminder: GWCA Neighborhood-Wide Garage Sale Saturday, May 31 9-4
If you haven’t already done so, there is still time to contact GWCA Council Member Mark Nehring (773-472-1192) to secure your place on the list and map for GWCA’s Annual Neighborhood Garage Sale. Mark will need $5 per household for registration on Tuesday, May 27. Funds are used to defray the cost of advertising and securing the permit for a group garage sale from the Alderman’s office. If you have not participated before, you use your own garage/yard/parkway. Your address will appear on the listing which is available through the neighborhood. If past years are any indication, it is a big attraction because it is throughout the community. Sign up now.

Let’s Clean Up the Alleys!
SAVE THE DATE: SATURDAY, MAY 17
I am a member of the Graceland West Community Association (aka GWCA) Council. Our neighborhood traditionally cleans the alleys annually in the spring.
After this harsh winter, our streets, yards, and alleys took a beating. The city came through mid-April and did a great job sweeping the streets. I have seen many neighbors in the past weeks getting their yards cleaned up. Now it’s time for the alleys.
GWCA scheduled a day to clean up our alleys on May 17 from 9 AM to 1 PM. We would like to get a six person team per alley together.
How can you help?
Create a team of six or more of your neighbors and let me know which alley you will be cleaning – for example Warner/Berteau. If you can’t organize a team for your alley, let me know. As people contact me, I will put you in touch with others on your block. Lastly, if you’re not into team sports, just come out and clean behind your building or mention to your landlord that the alley needs cleaning. You will need to provide your own rake, broom or shovel.
My contact information is: Larry Witry 773-549-1223
